This should be the best time of life, but . . . (instead, we are become flaming squid huggers)
Look: I am eager to learn stuff I don't know--which requires actively courting and posting smart disagreement.
But as you will understand, I don't like to post things that mischaracterize and are aimed to mislead.

You're a "math guy", Jazz. Please explain to me how 47% of the people don't pay federal income tax when only 45% don't pay in the number one state, and only 5 states are over 40%. Just eyeballing the figures, I would expect the number to be in the mid 30's.

As a math guy, that is the first thing I noticed.
But the 47% number is gospel among right wingers. I had it thrown at me a full year ago.
I don't know where it comes from.
Cheers!
