Look: I am eager to learn stuff I don't know--which requires actively courting and posting smart disagreement.

But as you will understand, I don't like to post things that mischaracterize and are aimed to mislead.

Not Your Father's Republican Party

Though it might be your great grandfather's.

I've been seriously disturbed by the degeneration of the former Republican, now Repugnicant party into an intellectually and ethically bankrupt cadre of bitter, lying partisan asshats.  There is no point in even trying to be polite when talking about them.  They have one goal: the restoration of an economically and politically elitist oligarchy, as was the case in the first part of the 20th century.  To the detriment of us all, they have largely succeeded.

I commented on this sad turn of events here, here, here, and here.  (Be among the very first to ever set eyes on my early blogs. And if you are going to comment, please do it at this post.)

Since then, things have only gotten worse.  It's impossible for anyone with the slightest shred of objectivity to avoid the realization that the Repugnicants have nothing to offer, except negativity, intellectual nihilism and a big lie.

Please click through and read these last two links.  They present vitally important insights.

Deleted for re-editing purposes. Either way, we have as many reasons to fear J-Edgar Hillary as we do the Gingrich buffoons, or Palinites and Romneyoids (who look scary, but they hardly wield the power HRC does...for now. Then I suspect many WASP demos secretly approve of Palin, or Mitt the Marvelous, as with this fraudocrat Byronia. Like his pal Meg Whitman, Mitt's for "phamily values" and is sort of user friendly, so...the suburban DINOs , even ones on AriannaPost, approve of the puto).

No, no no. I will not buy into the canard that there is not a dime's worth of difference between the two.

Yes, there are lots of corporatists among the Demos, and the Hillary threat is probably real, though very easy to overstate.

Politics is ugly, and being in that sewer corrupts poeple.

Still, Repugs and Dems are not equal. I seriously believe what I said in my assesment of Repugs. I really don't think you can make a strong case that the same is true of Demos, regardless of their personal wealth and/or corporate purse strings.

And it not simply a matter of degree. Rethugs are different - both from Dems today, and from what they used to be, before the Ray Gun revolution.

Imagine - I'm nostalgic for the Nixon era!

Wow - WASF,

Depends where you are, jzb. That's another problem with political generalizations. They might hold in Peoria, but not Portland. That someone is Dem rather than GOP does not automatically imply some ethical purity. At one time, I sort of believed that, and agree demo principles are..in principle usually superior. But that's not the same as ...RealPolitik. Nor does it account for regional issues. I may respect, say, John Kerry to some extent (not very much), or Harry Reid, even Miss Pelosi (some of her decisions). That does not mean I respect DiDi Feinstein, or Henry Waxman, or the Sanchez sisters (nor am I obligated to) . Really, I think the average US liberals are far too trusting of their political leaders--as with people, especially feminists, still blessing Admiral Hillary, hardly any different than the GOP on many issues.
