Maybe it should be "Jack-Booted Thugs" Edition.
"He's very well respected and liked. People are angry," the lawyer said. "If this can happen to a pillar of the community, it can happen to anyone."
Osama Siblani, publisher of The Arab American News in Dearborn, said he called the Dearborn police chief and the FBI to let them know Hammoud was the wrong man.
"This is not the end of the world but it's no small thing," Siblani said. "The charges are unbelievable. He has raised three doctors, a very down-to-earth guy. For me to even imagine he would do something like this is beyond my imagination."
Then, again he IS a Muslim!
H/T to the L/W.

Yes, it can happen to anyone. Including a senior from Carnegie Mellon U in NYC doing job interviews.
Walked to the Hudson River without carrying her id with her, was arrested, handcuffed, and jailed.
And she is white, raised in Westchester, and is someone's lovely daughter. Didn't help. The consequences of an increasingly militarized police force...in NYC and elsewhere.

But then again, the guys who tried to blow up the Glasgow airport in 2007 WERE ALSO "well-educated" and "well-assimilated" men (who just happened to be Muslims) (and also just happened to be tied to other Muslim terrorists involved in setting up a car-bomb attempt in London).
Dang! why do we keep targeting Muslims, when we could go after those notorious Southern Baptists?
Nonny -
You have a point. I imagine many of those tea-baggers who carry guns to town hall meetings are Baptists. I KNOW Baptists, and it wouldn't surprise me a bit.
And who was it who was talking about secession? Oh, yeah - Rick Perry. Isn't he a Baptist? He's certainly southern. And "2nd Amendment solutions?" Sharon Angle -- no? And having Palin's target practice list that included Gabby Giffords. There is some great Christianity on the march.

Need I mention Timothy McVeigh?
Congrats on some really deep thinking.
We were talking about an innocent man, right?
In contrast, one might actually wonder about how well assimilated those Southern Baptists actually are.
You really need to do better.
