The entire set of Republican arguments - i.e, whatever might actually come to pass in these sad, distorted times - is a blazingly incoherent melange of myth and chicanery. Via Ezra Klein, the Rethug and Demo tax plans, as of August, 2010; who would benefit from them; and by how much.
Them what has, gets!
The Congressional Budget Office gave an assessment of various stimulus ideas, rated on the basis of their ability to generate full time employment.
Everything considered yields more bang for the buck than do tax cuts. But the only thing worth considering is TAX CUTS.
All together now, 1-2-3: WE'RE SCREWED!
H/T to Menzie Chinn. (See his post for background, detail, and to find out what this does to the deficit. Hint - it's not good.)

The stupidity of people who believe these republican assholes is truly mind boggling.
Actually, it's not stupidity - at least not always. Most of it is ignorance, and the inability to detect bullshit. I blame that on defective education, not education, per se. Conservatives HATE education. It enables free thinking.
